TXDLA 2017

ROCk and Cycle Through The Adventure!

My Biography:
I came to United States 19 years ago with a basketball scholarship. I have a bachelor’s degree in science, master’s degree in Education and I am projected to receive my doctorate degree in ESL education in June 2017. I have been an educator for 15 years, 8 as a classroom teacher and 7 as a district administrator, all of them at Garland ISD. Education is more than a carrier for me, it is my passion.
My current position allows me to help students to either recover or earn credits to graduate either on time or early. I am very blessed to be able to use my education, my skills and personal experiences to inspire others.

Abstract:
GISD Secondary Academic Support Programs (SASP) offer alternative solutions for students at-risk of not meeting grading and/or graduation requirements through a traditional classroom setting. These alternative course offerings are technology-based and fulfill state and local education requirements. These programs require collaboration among SASP teachers, campus administrators, counselors, and students.
